The Black Hole Sunn is based on the legendary and massive Sunn Model T amplifiers, which were designed for use with both guitars and basses. Like many amplifiers of the time, they featured two inputs: normal and high treble, each with its individual gain. Similar to the practice with Marshall Plexi amps, it is common to “jump” these two channels and use them in parallel to offer a more balanced and less shrill sound – and here, this option is represented by the Normal and Bright knobs, which refer to the gain of each of these stages.

Additionally, the Black Hole Sunn features a powerful three-band equalizer, being an excellent tone shaper and a great choice for various music genres, offering everything from a beautiful and bright clean tone to devastating sounds, rich in bass, gain, and sustain, excellent for playing in lower tunings. In addition to having a gain boost stage, the Black Hole Sunn works very well when pushed by other overdrives, boosts, and fuzz pedals. Doom over the World!
