P006 – Foo Driver

Active ingredient – An open overdrive, without clipping diodes and full of harmonics, ranging from a soft crunch to an almost fuzzy tone.

Recommended for – Fans of the drive in Foo Fighters’ records

As the name suggests, the Foo Driver is a tribute to the Foo Fighters, but it is much more than that. This pedal is based on the Crowther Hot Cake, a legendary overdrive that shaped many of the sounds we hear on Foo Fighters’ records. This pedal is extremely versatile, with a creamy, organic, and very beautiful drive. This justifies the devotion that numerous guitarists have for the Hot Cake.

Over decades, different versions of the Hot Cake have been released, and that’s where the Foo Driver’s differential lies. All these versions are in our pedal! This is possible because of 3 dip switches inside the Foo Driver. In short: you can go from a rougher sound to more polished and moderate tones. It’s like being able to switch from Dave Grohl’s tones to Mark Knopfler’s – another devotee of the Hot Cake, with a simple adjustment.

Oh, before we forget, it’s worth mentioning that since the closure of Crowther Audio, the price of Hot Cakes has been steadily rising. Another reason for you to get the Foo Driver and have those coveted overdrive tones at your fingertips worldwide.

Much of Collateral FX was conceived to the sound of Foo Fighters, so it’s only fair to have a pedal paying homage to this band that has inspired us so much
