style="font-family: Roboto; color: #0a0a0a;">- Discerning guitarists looking for a fuzz full of mojo, personality, and history — but one that sounds great in a tropical climate.

The Banana Fuzz has everything that the most expensive and revered fuzz pedals produced around the world offer: 1/2W Carbon Comp resistors (hand-selected by me with a 5% tolerance), NOS axial capacitors (Philips or Siemens), external Bias control, and germanium transistors from the 60s or 70s (Toshiba, Matsushita, Texas Instruments, and others). The key difference lies in how these transistors are selected: they are meticulously tested and chosen based on their gain and leakage current, taking into account our tropical climate. And trust me: ambient temperature makes a TOTAL difference in the behavior and sound of a germanium transistor—when the temperature is higher, internal leakage current increases, the circuit becomes noisier, the note decay becomes more gated, and the pedal doesn’t clean up as well when you roll back the volume control on your instrument. In other words, your expensive imported germanium fuzz doesn’t sound here the way it was designed to sound in a cold-climate country. We have here a Fuzz made with the world’s best components but tailored to our climatic reality, offering low noise levels, incredible sustain, an absurdly musical texture, and a dynamic response to the guitar’s volume control that’s envy-inducing, achieving the elusive “glass tone” even with hotter output pickups. The Banana Fuzz, like any good Fuzz Face derivative, needs to be placed at the beginning of your signal chain, before pedals with buffers, and used with a good cable and a guitar with passive pickups. The germanium version of the Banana Fuzz must be powered by a battery (included with the pedal) or a power supply with isolated outputs, as it has reverse polarity compared to the Boss standard.
- Guitarists looking to cut through the mix and add more grit to their amplifier while cleaning up the low frequencies—or anyone seeking a preamp full of personality to enrich their tone.

The Lost Fingers of the Hand of Doom is a pedal that, in both name and sound, pays tribute to the legendary Tony Iommi, guitarist of Black Sabbath. His tone is one of the hardest to replicate in guitar history, and this is due to several factors. Among them is his use of the ultra-rare and long-discontinued Laney Supergroup amplifier, pushed to extreme saturation by a Rangemaster. The Rangemaster is a famous germanium treble booster, also used by Brian May and Rory Gallagher—yet its name scares off many players who have never tried the pedal. What it does isn’t exactly a treble boost—it cuts lows, accentuates high mids, and drives gain, both through its high output volume and the considerable clipping from its germanium transistor. The Lost Fingers modernizes and expands this functionality: using an NPN germanium transistor (which allows powering via a standard Boss-style adapter) selected for the lowest noise level—the pedal also features a Range control. At minimum, it works like an original Rangemaster, but as you turn it clockwise, it allows more low frequencies to pass through the circuit, reaching a full-range boost. This makes the circuit more versatile for different guitar and amplifier voicings, not only tightening up distorted tones and reducing muddiness but also pushing all frequencies of your guitar across various tunings. On top of that, when used in full-range mode, it serves as an excellent preamp to warm up your sound and bring out all the texture of the germanium transistor, with an explosion of complex harmonics and subtle compression. The circuit is optimized to be used right after your guitar, before buffers, and preferably without a wireless transmitter. The Lost Fingers of the Hand of Doom is a pedal built with the finest components on the market, designed for the most demanding guitarists who seek the best possible tones from their instrument and amplifier.<p

The Sirius OD is another Dual Drive (Sirius A and Sirius B, like the stars) offered in Collateral’s catalog. The green channel (right side) is based on the cult-classic ODR-1: an overdrive with rich mids—shaped in tandem with highs via its tone control—and a distorted texture quite different from that of a Tube Screamer. With more balanced lows and a modified gain structure, the green channel of the Sirius works well in the mix with any guitar, staying tight and articulate. The blue channel is based on the Bluesbreaker V1, an overdrive often described as "transparent," preserving the natural voicing of your guitar. Unlike the classic Marshall pedal, the blue channel offers plenty of volume and well-balanced highs—enhancing your guitar’s top frequencies without harshness and delivering a subtle, nuanced boost or drive.Combining both sides of the pedal unlocks an even wider range of tones, allowing for gain stacking to achieve high-gain textures or using the blue channel as a volume boost, making the Sirius a complete solution for all your overdrive needs in a single pedal.
- Guitarists looking for a high-gain fuzz sound, full of mids, but don't want to deal with the instability of germanium.

The Tonebenders were Sola Sound's response to the Fuzz Face. Their design with an extra gain stage brought a more aggressive sound with more sustain than the classic Fuzz Face - in addition to having smaller input and output capacitors, offering a more balanced tone in relation to the bass, with cutting mids and an almost vocal characteristic - which greatly marked rock and roll and garage rock of the 60s and 70s.

But not everything is perfect - in addition to the huge size, characteristic of pedals from that period, such fuzz units were entirely made with germanium transistors, quite temperamental - varying the sound and noises even depending on the ambient temperature, and operating only with 9v batteries. The Bendz utilizes two New Old Stock (NOS) silicon transistors in its construction, meticulously selected to deliver optimal sonic performance, stability, and reliability for live use. Additionally, it features a carefully chosen germanium transistor, which allows the pedal to be operated with a standard Boss power supply.

The Bendz is a modern reinterpretation of a classic circuit, bringing all the sound and personality that made the Tonebender Jimmy Page and Mick Ronson's favorite pedal - offering a realistic price, the possibility of being used on any pedalboard without resorting to batteries, and without the instability and characteristic noises of this classic circuit. The Bendz is a rock and roll machine and is ready to be allied with your creativity in creating great riffs!

Recommended for - Guitarists looking for a high-gain fuzz sound, full of mids, but don't want to deal with the instability of germanium.

Guitarists and bassists seeking the classic sound of Ampeg amps, but in a compact format.

We shouldn’t live only on Marshall and Fender. Ampeg amplifiers are a crucial part of music history, having been used by various jazz musicians (the focus of Ampeg in its early days), but soon discovered by rock musicians. Keith Richards used an SVT in the recordings of Exile on Main St, Sticky Fingers, and many other Rolling Stones albums. Interestingly, this amplifier was developed for use with the bass guitar, but its rich low-end and fuzzy texture at high gain also captivated Stoner Rock guitarists, becoming one of the most important tools in the sound of Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age.The Drive for the Dead features a JFET emulation of the circuit of these amplifiers, with a switch offering two voicings and distinct gain levels: the Deaf mode explores the low gain aspect, perfect for playing 60s and 70s rock and roll and blues, with a rich texture that pairs well when pushed by boosters, overdrives, and fuzzes – making it an excellent preamp/overdrive for bass use (as its bass control allows the low-end of the instrument to be intact). The Dead mode comes with a hefty dose of gain, perfect for performing the Songs for the Deaf phase of QOTSA. But don’t be fooled, its fuzzy sound and equalization controls make the Drive for the Dead a versatile tool that can be used across various music genres. By powering the pedal with 18v, the headroom is expanded, compression decreases, and its response to the guitar's volume control and picking becomes even more expressive.<p

Introducing the Toranja Compressor, based on JFET technology. Unlike traditional compressors that flatten all the frequencies of your guitar into a uniform mass, the Toranja allows the dynamics of your instrument to be preserved alongside the compression line, adding sustain, definition, and personality to your tone—giving a studio-quality feel to your sound. The Toranja compressor has its origins in the extremely rare Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, which is known for preserving the high frequencies of your instrument, resulting in an incredibly organic tone with very low noise levels. Its blend control allows you to mix your clean signal with the compressed signal, maintaining your instrument's timbre and sounding amazing on guitars (both single coils and humbuckers), acoustic guitars, basses, and even as a vocal effect. Moreover, the Toranja has plenty of output to be used as a volume or gain boost, making it a complete and versatile tool for transforming your tone.Note: the pedal features a trimpot that SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED BY THE USER.<p

Searching for infinite sustain? The possibility of absurd levels of gain, "wall of sound" style, but without losing definition or making your instrument disappear in the mix? The SLOW was developed to meet the needs of guitarists and bassists who love the classic sound of Big Muffs but seek versatility and the practicality of having a low-end cut—to make the sound tighter or boost the mids without the need to add another overdrive or equalizer to the equation. The obvious reference to Black Sabbath (in the Volume control) and Stoner Rock already indicates: the SLOW is a serious pedal when it comes to gain and bass. Its voicing was designed for the dense riffs of the Sabbath school, but its internal switches allow for many other possibilities: The first pair of DIP switches modifies the voicing of the SLOW for a more modern sound, providing a full range boost and increasing the compression and sonic mass of the pedal. The central trio of DIP switches modifies the mids voicing of the SLOW, ranging from the traditional scoop of the Big Muff to cutting mids to highlight your solos and riffs. Finally, the last pair of switches offers a generous bass boost reminiscent of Russian Big Muffs, making it an excellent ally for adding weight in lower tunings or when using a bass. Furthermore, it's possible to combine the use of all switches, offering a vast array of tonal possibilities that encompass sounds from David Gilmour, Santana, Eric Johnson, Billy Corgan.
Selected opto cells (LDR) and the classic lamp, with improved preamp and speed range to meet the needs of the modern guitarist, but seeking the original sound of the Univibe.

Recommended for - Guitarists looking for modulation that goes beyond the chorus/phaser/flanger triad and want a more vintage and complex coloration in their tones.

The Univibe, developed by Fumio Mieda for Honey (the company that would become Shin-Ei) was one of the first modulations developed for musical instruments. The Vibe effect - which sits somewhere between the sound of Phaser and Chorus - was originally obtained by the interaction between an incandescent lamp and four optical cells, and the difficulty of finding such components, combined with the needs for the original circuit's power supply (which had an internal transformer and was plugged directly into the outlet), led the classic circuit to undergo various adaptations when "reproduced" by other brands, ranging from replacing the lamp with an LED (or LEDs), which provides a different response in terms of pulse shape and modulation frequencies - to a complete change in the pedal's functioning topology - such as the use of OTAs, JFETs, and even completely digital versions. The Sea of Japan, on the other hand, is a faithful reproduction of the Vibe acclaimed by Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Mike McCready, and many other guitarists, using a lamp (which, it is worth mentioning, has a lifespan of 10000 hours and will likely last for generations) and a modernized power system.

The depth control determines the depth of the effect, altering the "throb," the shape of the sound pulse. The Speed control acts on the effect's speed (which also affects the depth - the faster, the more intense the sound becomes, and the slower, the more subtle), ranging from almost-phaser sounds to those reminiscent of a Ring Modulator - the circuit's LFO was slightly modified to reach speeds slower and faster than the original Univibe, offering great sonic flexibility. Additionally, the preamp was modified to offer more gain - since in the original units the volume is below bypass - and can be used as a boost - all within reach of the Level control. The C/V switch alternates between Chorus mode, which is the classic Vibe sound we hear on records, where the modulated signal is mixed with the clean signal, and Vibrato mode, which is just the modulated signal. The Sea of Japan is a project that was born classic and was developed with great respect for the history, operation, and sound of the original Univibe units.

Based on the sound of the early recordings by Van Halen, the Unchained uses JFET technology to emulate the pre and power stages of the Marshall Super Lead. The tones of Ed Van Halen are extremely difficult to reproduce with amplifiers since he used them at very high volumes, passing through attenuators - which brought that compressed, sagging, and sustained sound. The Unchained circuit faithfully reproduces such tones, featuring a powerful three-band active equalizer, providing great flexibility to match the pedal with your favorite guitars, amplifiers, or emulators. Additionally, the Unchained can be powered by up to 18v, allowing for more headroom and dynamics if the user prefers the pedal that way.

It is crucial to emphasize that, despite the references to EVH and the elusive "Brown Sound," the Unchained is capable of going much further - its gain control is highly versatile, encompassing tones from 1970s and 1980s hard rock and smoothly transitioning through the guitar tones of 1980s metal and the early 1990s.
<p
