The Constellation OD is arguably the most versatile single overdrive from Collateral. Acting as a crystal-clear buffer when in bypass, its structure harks back to the low-mid gain tones of the ProCo Rat. However, the Constellation features asymmetric clipping, offering odd harmonics with a beautiful and complex texture, while keeping its bass intact, unlike its rodent cousin.

Moreover, the Constellation operates from 9 to 18v, providing the guitarist with more or less headroom and compression, making it an excellent pedal to push an amplifier already on the edge-of-breakup. There is no denying that John Mayer's album Continuum is one of the most influential albums for guitarists from 2006 onwards. The killer Strat tone is the result, among other factors, of using pedals like the Ibanez TS10 and the Klon Centaur. And it was the combination of these two classics that resulted in the Continuum pedal, the new release from Collateral FX.

But those who think the Continuum is just an attempt to reproduce the sound of the eponymous album are mistaken. The idea here is to bring the characteristics of two classics into one pedal. We took the best of both the TS10 and the Klon, perfected some details, put our own twist on it, and the result was a powerful tool.

With the Continuum, you can obviously achieve that Strat sound leaning towards John Mayer and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but you can go further, especially if you combine both channels and crank up the gain. You can also leave one of them on to add some color to the sound and push through solos with the other. The Continuum's proposal is to bring that atmosphere for fans of John Mayer, of course. But long before that, we had embarked on a mission to correct some details in this classic guitar pedal - from years of work came the Icarus, which has its DNA based on the Klon, but with its own details, like the gain control, which is linear, meaning: you can have subtle doses of overdrive starting from the 9 o'clock position and then increase the gain according to each one's taste. In the original pedal, it's very difficult to get gain before the 12 o'clock position.Another adjustment the Icarus has compared to the original is in the treble control, which we have shifted a bit towards the mid-bass region. This makes it the best Klon-style drive to use with Marshall amplifiers, for example. Overall, it's a delight to have one of the most popular overdrive and booster pedals in history.
